First New Year Project: Better Late Than Never!!

These last few days have been a marathon of cleaning, organizing, and working on classroom stuff.  Ahhhhh!!!!!! Back to work on Monday.  I do miss the little munchkins though.
And, I am looking forward to seeing my co-workers and begin the countdown to spring break.
Yep, that's me, "The Countdown Queen".

Here is a picture of one of the quilt blocks that go into my daughter's Christmas present.
Now that I am post-flu I can complete it.  Better late than never right?

 Happy New Year!!!

I sit here laughing at myself.  Hahaha!!!  I have been reading different blogs and "again" found myself wanting to be a good blogger.  So, when I get ready to create my blog (forgetting how to find the old one from a few years back) UP pops ME!!!!  Apparently blogger.com keeps up with me better that I do.
Anyway, I had a draft saved that I never posted.  So, if you just read the post about getting back to school and working in the cafeteria, that's the one that has been in limbo for a year and a half.  Needless to say, that cafeteria position just about did me in.  Those people should be at the top of the pay scale.
I returned to the Child Development Center and am enjoying working with 18mos to 2yr olds.
And, after being on Christmas Break for the last 2 weeks, Monday it's back in the saddle.

Back To The Future!!!   The last 3 days has been a whirlwind of cleaning, organizing, and creating my man his own little "homeofficemancave".   But, the most exciting thing for me was working on my sewing room.  Yay Me!!!

My 2014 goals are to complete the Christmas quilt for my daughter and son-in-law, that got put on the back burner due to getting the flu.
Then, I am going to see how many scrap quilts I can crank out to diminish some fabric.  The same old pile that I keep moving around is boring to look at.
Next, I owe a friend so I am going to make a "western/cowboy" themed quilt for her son.

A few pics of some progress in the sewing room today:

Good Night. Sleep Tight.

Back To School/Work!!!!!!

Whewwww Weeeeee!!!!!! I was so busy working on my "summer projects", that I neglected to establish a habit of posting to the blog all summer long.  Back at work now.  I transferred to an elementary school cafeteria.  OH-MY-WORD!!!!!!! The first few weeks I thought I wasn't going to make it.  Extremely hard work.  I don't think I need that gym membership after all as I get a 7 hour workout 5 days a week.  Add in the back exercises, walking around the block and I should be pulling out that "skinny" wardrobe from the closet by years end.

Well as for the projects.......
1. Garage makeover was a success and we have plans to complete it just as soon as we can clear out all the leftover garage sale junk  stuff.
2. Refinished a second hand store $7.99 desk to put my sewing machine on.  Love love love the drawers.
3. Painted 3 of the walls in my sewing room with $7.00 pale purple oops paint from Home Depot. The last wall will be pale green.
4. Began the pantry re-organization.  To be continued......
5. Started cleaning out "Gage" trailer for garage sale.  TO HOT!!!!!!!! Hurry Fall
6. Had an extremely wonderful time in Louisiana.  Visited Mike The Tiger at LSU Campus.  Visited the most  beautiful State Capital in Baton Rouge.  Splashed with all three of my kids, and 2 grandbabies.
7.  Did some rearranging of the back yard garden.  I will be applying a gardening technique I saw a video of.
I encourage anyone interested in gardening to watch backtoedenfilm.com/
